2015 Puerto Rico Tip Off

For the ninth-consecutive year, our island has the privilege to welcome American college basketball to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off event, which will be held Nov. 19-22 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan.

During the Puerto Rico Tip-Off—created in 2007—fans will have the chance to see National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) players’ great talent. This year’s event includes Puerto Rico’s own Ángel Rodríguez from San Juan’s Cupey area, who plays with the University of Miami.

NCAA Big East conference teams will participate in the event that will be broadcast on the ESPN television network. This year’s participating teams are: Butler, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Temple, Texas Tech, and Utah.

This is a bracket-format tournament where 12 games will be played over three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing in the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout the tournament will face off in a championship game.

Puerto Rico Tip Off 2015

Por novena ocasión consecutiva nuestra isla tiene el privilegio de darle la bienvenida al baloncesto  universitario estadounidense en el evento Puerto Rico Tip-Off, que se celebrará del 19 al 22 de noviembre de 2015 en el Coliseo Roberto Clemente en San Juan.

Durante el Puerto Rico Tip-Off, creado en el 2007, los fanáticos en la isla tendrán la oportunidad de ver el gran desempeño de los baloncelistas de la National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Este año el evento incluye al boricua Ángel Rodríguez de Cupey, San Juan, quien juega con University of Miami.

En el evento participan los equipos de la conferencia Big East de la NCAA y cuenta con el respaldo de la cadena televisiva de ESPN. Los equipos participantes son: Butler, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri State, Temple, Texas Tech y Utah.

El torneo se llevará a cabo en formato de rondas (brackets) y habrá 12 juegos en tres días. Cada equipo competirá en un juego por día, adelantando en las rondas. Los dos equipos que permanezcan invictos a través del torneo se enfrentarán en un juego de campeonato.
